The Gardening Club was established in spring 2019 and has been meeting regularly ever since, even continuing throughout the Covid pandemic. It was created as an informal group where people with an interest in gardening can come together to share ideas, exchange practical advice and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Since the club began, Christine Roberts has served as Chair and Jeannette McLellan as Treasurer. More recently, Menna Hughes and Debra Woolley have joined the committee.
The club is open to everyone, whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out. There is no annual membership fee, and visitors simply pay £2-£3 per meeting to help cover the cost of guest speakers and hall hire. Meetings are usually held on the third Monday evening of each month. The club does not normally meet in July, August or December.
The club continues to grow, welcoming new members throughout the year, and everyone is encouraged to suggest ideas for future talks, visits and events. One of the highlights of the calendar is the club’s Christmas party, traditionally held in January!
Whether you have a lifetime of gardening experience or are simply looking to learn something new, you’ll always receive a warm welcome. Come along to a meeting, meet fellow gardening enthusiasts and enjoy sharing ideas, inspiration and a love of gardening.
